Refresh of faded permanent makeup
High-quality permanent makeup gives you confidence and beauty for years. But over time, every pigmentation fades due to natural skin renewal and UV radiation or changes its nuance. When you notice that your contours are losing definition or the color is losing its radiance, it's time for a professional touch-up.
Olga Keller assesses your existing pigmentation, including work from other studios. Together, we discuss which adjustments to shape and shade are appropriate, as well as the possibilities and limitations.
A refresh is a separate, paid treatment for faded pigmentation. It differs from the follow-up treatment included in the initial pigmentation package, which usually takes place after 4–6 weeks. We agree on the exact appointment individually.
A refresh may concern the following areas:
Especially with work that was not originally performed in our studio, we often use the touch-up for an aesthetic correction to neutralize unwanted undertones (such as red or gray tints).
Refreshing an existing pigmentation often requires more expertise than an initial treatment, as it must build on existing structures and residual pigments. With over 12 years of experience, Olga Keller is an authority in this field in Berlin.
If your PMU touch-up concerns the eyebrows, Olga Keller plans this area specifically with you. She considers how the contour, shade and natural hairs work together today and asks about the expression you want. Drawing on her many years of experience, she discusses a suitable shape, possible shades and technique. Previous treatments and your current makeup routine also inform the consultation. This creates an individual plan rather than simply repeating the first pigmentation.
Olga combines traditional experience with modern planning options. At your request, she uses her own AI-assisted software to show different brow shapes, shades and techniques digitally. The preview can help you compare wishes and ask specific questions. You discuss it with Olga as a possible design.
The AI preview is an optional addition to personal consultation. Olga also supports your choice through traditional methods. She assesses in person whether and how the existing pigmentation can be refreshed. The agreed outline on your skin and your consent form part of the plan before treatment begins.
The timing of a refresh depends on the actual fading, the treated area, the condition of the skin and the remaining pigment. A fixed schedule is not suitable for everyone. Olga Keller assesses beforehand whether a refresh is already needed and appropriate. A consultation is advisable if:
We take just as much time for a touch-up as for a new application:
We agree the exact touch-up date individually during your consultation and after treatment. We take healing, your availability and personal circumstances into account, and arrange a different date with you if needed.
The cost of refreshing permanent makeup depends on the treatment area, the scope of the procedure, and whether the original pigmentation was performed by Olga Keller or at another studio. When booking online, choose the relevant area and where the existing work was done; the price of the selected service is displayed there. Refreshing includes:
Note: For severely faded or flawed external work that equals a complete redesign, we will transparently advise you in advance about the effort involved.

Analogy for Clarification: Refreshing permanent makeup is comparable to restoring a valuable antique piece of furniture. It's not enough to simply apply fresh varnish. A master must understand the substance, smooth out imperfections, and bring out the original beauty with respect for the material – often more beautiful than ever before.
This short clip shows one step during treatment and offers an insight into the process.
Medical safety standards also apply to touch-up treatments. In certain situations, treatment must be postponed.

Refreshing work from another studio may be possible. Olga Keller first assesses the shape, shade, existing pigments and skin condition. We then discuss a suitable approach and possible alternatives.

Changes may be possible, but depend on the existing pigmentation. We discuss which adjustments can reasonably be made during your personal consultation.
Sensations vary from person to person. Before the procedure, we discuss the approach, possible breaks and ways to reduce discomfort.
The price depends on the area, scope, and where the existing pigmentation was performed. When booking online, select whether the original treatment was with Olga Keller or at another studio, then choose the required service. The corresponding price is displayed. A follow-up check is included.
For red or blue tones, we first assess the existing pigmentation. Whether colour correction is appropriate or another approach is needed is determined after this assessment. Not all old permanent makeup can be covered directly.
Healing varies from person to person and depends, among other factors, on the treated area and your skin. Temporary redness, swelling or scabbing may occur. Do not pick off scabs. Allow time for healing before important events and follow your individual aftercare instructions.
We use Microblading (manual hair stroke drawing), Powder Brows (powder shading with machine), or combination techniques for lips and eyes as needed to achieve the best result.
