Assessing existing brow pigmentation
This page is an overview of later refreshes for already pigmented eyebrows. At Kosmetikinstitut Expert in Berlin, Olga Keller assesses remaining colour, contour and skin condition. Together, you discuss whether additions are appropriate, the existing technique can be continued or another approach is needed first.
Suitable additions depend on the current condition. The original technique alone does not determine whether further pigmentation is possible. For planning, we distinguish:
Olga Keller uses her years of experience to compare your existing brow shape with your current wishes. She assesses colour, gradient and skin, explains possible limitations and agrees the next steps with you personally.
Red, grey or very dark remaining pigment calls for a careful assessment. A simple refresh and an extensive correction are different starting situations. Whether colour correction, another method or prior removal may be suitable is discussed individually.
Even if you liked your original brow shape, your wishes can change over time. Before a touch-up, Olga Keller discusses what you want to keep and which details you now see differently. Her many years of experience inform her assessment of the existing contours, shade and technique. Together, you decide whether gentle additions make sense or whether another approach should first be discussed. Your brows and face guide the choice.
If a digital comparison helps, Olga can bring in her own AI-assisted software. At your request, she shows possible changes to shape, colour and technique. A softer arch or a different colour effect can then be discussed as a design. Olga combines this modern option with traditional consultation and her personal assessment.
You choose whether to use the additional preview. Without AI, you receive the same individual support in planning. A digital design cannot determine the condition of pigments in your skin. Professional judgement, the outline and your consent remain the basis for a possible touch-up.
A consultation may help if you notice changes or are unhappy with existing pigmentation. A refresh is not automatically due after 12 or 18 months. Reasons for an assessment may include:
Would you like the shape, colour or work from another studio assessed?
A photo helps with initial orientation. A firm assessment of skin, remaining pigment and treatment options is made in person; not every old treatment can be pigmented over.
Assessment, mapping, colour choice and care are agreed with you personally:
A later refresh of work from another studio currently costs 175 € instead of 200 €, with around 90 minutes planned for the appointment. Prior assessment of the existing pigmentation is required. The scope is agreed before the appointment.
For complex work from other studios: The normal refresh price does not automatically cover extensive correction or removal. The appropriate approach, scope and any different costs are agreed before treatment. You can send a photo via WhatsApp for initial orientation.
If we originally pigmented your eyebrows, a later refresh costs 150 €, with around 60 minutes planned. When booking online, select whether the first treatment was with us or another studio. You can also message us via WhatsApp with questions.
Would you like your existing eyebrow PMU assessed? At Heinrich-Heine-Straße 62D in Berlin Mitte, Olga Keller discusses suitable additions and the next steps with you.
The touch-up included in our initial treatment package usually takes place after 4–6 weeks. It is used to assess and, if needed, supplement the healed result. A later refresh is a separate appointment with its own agreed scope and price. Our PMU refresh overview also explains this distinction.
We agree the exact touch-up date individually during your consultation and after treatment. We take healing, your availability and personal circumstances into account, and arrange a different date with you if needed.
The video shows an eyebrow with fine lines and a cotton swab being moved over it. It does not establish when the footage was taken, the nature of the previous appointment or the healing stage. Our permanent makeup for eyebrows overview explains initial pigmentation and design options.
Before pigmentation, we discuss your skin condition, medical conditions, known allergies and medication. Health risks may require medical advice. Inflamed, damaged or sunburnt skin in the brow area is not pigmented.
The need depends on remaining colour, contour, skin condition and your wishes. A rigid annual schedule does not suit every pigmentation. The early touch-up from the initial treatment package and a later refresh are separate appointments serving different purposes.
Work from another studio is assessed first. Remaining colour, shape and skin condition determine whether a refresh is an option or another approach is needed. You can send a brow photo via WhatsApp for preliminary advice; a final treatment commitment is not made solely from a photo.
A change may be possible depending on remaining colour, existing shape and skin condition. The new design must work with existing pigment; very dark, densely pigmented or altered areas cannot be reshaped freely. Olga Keller discusses the possibilities and limitations with you beforehand.
Pain perception varies individually. You may feel scratching, stinging or pressure during pigmentation. We discuss your sensitivity beforehand and ask you to mention any discomfort during treatment. A pain-free treatment cannot be guaranteed.
A red or grey tone is first assessed alongside remaining colour and skin condition. There is no universal pigment mix that reliably corrects every old treatment. Olga Keller explains whether additions, a separate correction or another initial approach may be appropriate.
Healing varies individually and is not necessarily faster than after initial treatment. You receive personal care guidance. Colour continues to change over the following weeks and is assessed after healing; seek medical advice if discomfort increases or redness is unusual.
Olga Keller personally assesses remaining pigment, skin condition and your preferences. She plans the appropriate technique and colour with you and explains which additions are realistic. Precision and a particular colour development cannot be guaranteed as a permanently unchanged result.
