Lip Pigmentation
Pale lips, indistinct contours or a wish for fresher colour? At Kosmetikinstitut Expert in Berlin Mitte, Olga Keller personally agrees the shade, outline and intensity with you. Pigmentation can make lips look fuller; it does not increase their physical volume or replace filler treatment.
From a sheer tint to a stronger lipstick look, the technique is chosen around your natural lip colour, shape and desired result. Existing pigment and previous treatments are taken into account.
Light shading across the lips enhances their natural colour without a hard outline. After healing, the intended effect is soft and sheer, similar to tinted lip balm.
The full lip area is pigmented more intensely for a more made-up appearance than aquarell lips. Shade and coverage are agreed beforehand; the result develops during healing.
Lighter and darker shades create a gradient that can give the lips a more sculpted appearance. The impression of volume comes from colour, not physical enlargement.
The contour is defined and colour fades softly inward. A light accent at the Cupid’s bow may complement the design where appropriate. Planning follows the natural lip shape.
Lip Light in Detail
The illustration shows a lighter accent at the Cupid’s bow. Its suitability is assessed individually; it is not a necessary part of every lip pigmentation treatment.
Natural Lips as a Starting Point
Differences in natural colour and outline are normal. This illustration provides a reference for the pigmentation effects shown. Not every lip needs intense colour.
The before-and-after comparison shows a change in colour and definition. Other illustrations demonstrate techniques and possible effects. Your shade and shape are planned individually; a photograph cannot promise an identical result.
Olga Keller guides you personally from consultation to touch-up. Her years of PMU experience inform the mapping, colour selection and coordination with your natural lip tone.
Follow your personal aftercare instructions and do not pick at scabs. We discuss suitable care products and restrictions on sun exposure, sauna use, swimming and strenuous activity at your appointment. Seek medical advice for worsening symptoms or signs of infection.
New lip treatment currently costs 400 € instead of 500 €. Consultation, mapping, the chosen pigmentation technique and a touch-up within one month are included. Allow around 120 minutes. Correction of previous work is assessed and priced in advance.
Around two to three years of visible colour is a common guide. Skin, pigment, UV exposure and aftercare affect fading; residual pigment may remain longer. A lip PMU refresh is planned according to the actual result.
Lips are sensitive. We use sterile, single-use materials and REACH-compliant pigments, but irritation, swelling and allergic reactions remain possible. Tell us about medical conditions, allergies, medication and previous lip treatments beforehand.
Irritation of the lips can trigger another outbreak in people prone to cold sores. Tell us about previous episodes, even if they were a long time ago. Blisters, tingling or other signs of a developing outbreak need to be discussed and may require postponing the appointment.
Discuss with your doctor in advance whether preventive medication is appropriate for you. The product, timing and duration are determined medically. Prevention may reduce the risk but cannot guarantee that an outbreak will not occur.
We do not pigment during active cold sores, on inflamed or broken lip skin, or during an acute illness. Treatment is postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Clotting disorders, a tendency to raised scarring or impaired healing require individual medical assessment. Do not stop prescribed medication on your own.
After filler injections, we plan treatment no earlier than four weeks and only when the lips have fully healed without irritation. Agree the timing with your treating professional and with us; healing may require a longer interval.
Aquarell Lips are translucent and very natural – like a tinted lip balm. The natural lip structure shows through. Full shading is more opaque and color-intensive, comparable to a lipstick look. Both techniques are masterfully commanded by Olga Keller.
Sensitivity is individual. Some clients describe tingling or scratching. We discuss the approach and ways to ease discomfort beforehand; pain-free treatment cannot be guaranteed.

Temporary swelling is possible and settles at different rates. It is not reliable to promise a completely unnoticeable appearance the next day. Seek medical advice for increasing pain, pronounced redness or other concerning symptoms.

We do not pigment during an active outbreak. If you have had cold sores, discuss possible prevention with your doctor beforehand. Medication and its schedule are chosen individually; an outbreak cannot be ruled out entirely.
We have a huge palette of certified pigments – from soft nude and rosé to peach to classic red. Olga Keller mixes your individual shade.
