What microneedling actually does
During microneedling, fine needles create many tiny, controlled micro-channels in the upper layer of the skin. These minimal impulses activate the skin's natural self-healing: it produces more collagen and elastin — exactly the substances responsible for firmness and a smooth complexion. At the same time, the skin absorbs active ingredients far more effectively through the micro-channels.
The goal is visibly firmer, more even skin. Microneedling is often used for fine lines, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture and shallow scarring, for example after acne. It is not a one-time miracle but a process that stimulates the skin from within.
How the treatment works
It always begins with a skin analysis. Our team examines your skin closely, discusses your goals and determines the right needle depth. The skin is then thoroughly cleansed, and a numbing cream is applied that takes about 20 to 30 minutes to take effect. This preparation is key to a comfortable experience.
Next, the microneedling device is guided across the skin in even passes, often combined with a soothing serum. The treatment itself takes around 30 to 45 minutes. To finish, a calming care product and sun protection are applied. In total, you should allow around one hour.
How painful is microneedling really?
This is the most common question — and the reassuring answer first: thanks to the numbing cream, most clients find the treatment very tolerable. What you usually feel is a light tingling or vibration; on more sensitive areas such as the forehead or along the jawline it can be a little more intense. Very few people report real pain.
Right after the treatment the skin is reddened, similar to mild sunburn, and may feel warm. This redness usually subsides within one to two days. For the first 24 hours the rule is: no make-up, no sun, no sport — and apply the recommended care consistently. The skin feels normal again after a short time.
When do you see results?
A first fresh, plump glow often appears just a few days after the treatment, once the redness has faded. The actual result — firmer, smoother skin — builds up over several weeks, however, because the body needs time to form new collagen. That is why we usually recommend microneedling as a course of three to four sessions a few weeks apart.
If you want to enhance the effect, microneedling pairs well with other treatments. A mesoporation delivers additional moisture deep into the skin, and a fruit acid peel in a separate session refines the complexion between microneedling appointments.
